The Palace opens at 9:00 and closes at 19:00 in summer and 18:00 in winter. Closing operations begin 30 minutes before closing time, so aim to arrive well before the last entry. The official site documents no weekly closing day.

The official site does not say whether the Doge's Palace is closed on 25 December and 1 January. Some unofficial sources say it is: check the Announcements section of the official site before you go.

Winter hours start on 1 November
The winter timetable applies from 1 November 2026. The official pages are not dated, so we assume the same seasons for 2027: check the official site when you plan.
Tickets without a time slot
An official notice says that tickets for the St. Mark's Square Museums that carry no time slot are admitted from 12:00. Check the entry conditions of the ticket you buy, on any site.
Another notice says that anyone arriving more than 15 minutes late for a guided tour is excluded.
Early, late and special openings
The official site lists exclusive Secret Itineraries tours at 9:00 and 9:30 and evening visits at 18:30 and 18:40 with exit by 20:00. Out-of-hours entry for groups of at least 10 people must be requested 3 days ahead, and private after-hours visits need at least 20 tickets. Prices and rules are on the official site.
The Clock Tower has its own booking: visits are only with a specialised guide and on reservation. We did not check its hours and prices.
Works of art out for restoration
On 22 October 2026 the official site said Veronese's Rape of Europa and Bassano's Return of Jacob were being restored, with copies in the Sala del Liagò. The Announcements section of the official site lists any other change.
